Turkish goods will occur in Russia through Azerbaijan

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has proposed to simplify the procedure for Turkish trucks’ transit through the territory of Azerbaijan. This means that even if the Turkish drivers lack visas or other appropriate documents, in respect of them penalties will not apply. The essence of the decision is not to abolish penalties, but to accelerate the process of entry of Turkish goods into the territory of Azerbaijan.

It should be noted that the President of Azerbaijan announced about this decision immediately after the meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu held recently in Baku.

Azerbaijan can import into Russia Turkish goods under its guise, — says Dmitry Kuvalin, deputy director of the Institute of Economic Forecasting, the Russian Academy of Sciences.

«There are quite a few precedents. We remember how through Poland to Russia under the guise of the Polish beef was imported the low-quality South American meat. The con import can be carried out by changing the certificates and accompanying documents of imported goods,»- mentions Dmitry Kuvalin in his interview to RUSARMINFO.

Note: On November 28, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree to ban charter air transportation between Turkey and Russia, from January 1 of 2016 it’s also prohibited to recruit Turkish nationals in Russia. Today it has become known that the ban includes Turkish products, such as chilled and frozen meat, cattle, poultry, dairy products, seafood, fruits and vegetables. After that, the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Alexander Tkachev announced that Turkish products could be replaced by goods from Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Morocco, Israel.
