For the increase of electricity tariffs should be blamed the government of Armenia

Yevgeny Bibin, General Director of the «Electric Networks of Armenia», indirectly accused the government of Armenia in the increase of electricity tariffs and accumulated debt. In his opinion, the government did not conduct «fair market reforms» in the system when it was need.

«The increase in tariffs is a necessary measure today. Of course, such a serious growth could have been avoided if the state timely made decisions with respect to the imbalance in the market. In other words, if the government carried out in this segment market-oriented and justified conversions. But, alas, notwithstanding our requests to do so, everything remained as it used to be, and as a result in the energy sector have been formed a huge debt, “ explained Bibin in an interview to ArmInfo.

He added that the company for last two years on regular basis informed the government about the accumulated debt, but all appeals were ignored. Note that nowadays the tariff of the «Electric Networks of Armenia» company for the population is 41.85 drams per 1 kW / h during the day and 31.85 — at night. In the submitted appeal on May 8, the company proposes to increase the tariffs to 58 and 48 drams, respectively. The company has accumulated a debt of $ 250 million.
