Iran is ready to promote consular relations with Armenia. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Iranian Foreign Ministry for Consular, Parliamentary and Compatriot Affairs Hassan Qashqavi at a meeting in Tehran with the head of the consular department of the Armenian Foreign Ministry Vladimir Karmirshalyan, reports Armenpress referring to the Iranian news agency «Tansen». According to the Iranian diplomat, the closer consular relations will open new prospects for the expansion of the Armenian-Iranian relations in other aspects as well, including economic and trade sphere. Qashqavi also expressed the intention of the Iranian leadership to promote bilateral relations with Armenia and asked the Armenian diplomat to develop the ground for the approval of a visa-free regime between the two countries. Karmirshalyan, in his turn, expressed the readiness of the Armenian leadership to develop bilateral cooperation with Iran in the spheres of legal, tourism, trade and investment cooperation, as well as in various fields of citizen services.
