The European Union respects the right of each member state of the «Eastern Partnership» program to seek their own path of development, while maintaining cooperation with the EU. This was stated by German Chancellor Angela Merkel. «We respect the decision of Armenia, which, in addition to the intense negotiations with the EU, seeks closer economic cooperation with Russia, the Eurasian Economic Union.
