Latvian Ambassador: the EU and Armenia can sign a new cooperation agreement

Latvian Ambassador-at-Large for the «Eastern Partnership» Juris Poikans said that during the «Eastern Partnership» Riga summit, to be held on May 21-22, between Armenia and the European Union can be developed a new document. In addition, the summit willmake a special offer to Armenia, Azerbaijan and Belarus. «We are willing to build relationships with all these countries based on the principle of equality,» said Juris Poikans, adding thatduring the summit there might be signed a new agreement between Armenia and the EU. Poikans stressed that the upcoming summit of the «Eastern Partnership» in Riga would be a very important event for the EU. The Rigasummit will result in signing of a declaration on the main directions of the «Eastern Partnership» policy in the next two years.
