The gas tariffs for domestic consumers in Armenia will not be changed, as stated by the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Armenia Yervand Zakharyan. According to him, after lengthy negotiations the Russian gas price on the border for Armenia has been reduced by 25 dollars, but it will not affect the gas tariff for the domestic consumption. «The price of gas for consumers in Armenia will not be changed», said Zakaryan.
In regards to the electricity tariffs, the minister assured that the government had done the possible not to permit the increase of the electricity tariffs, however, not everything depended on the cabinet of ministers. As mentioned by Zakaryan, in the last three years, the company of «Electric Networks of Armenia» has suffered some economic losses, and to solve the problems it’s forced to revise the current tariffs.
