Gallup survey: 66% of Armenian population approves Russia’s military operation in Syria

The Armenian office of «Gallup International association» has published the survey results conducted among residents of Armenia. More than half of the citizens of Armenia believes that Russia’s actions do not threaten the security of Armenia, and 66% of those surveyed approves the Russian military operation in Syria. 17% of respondents says that the operation is detrimental to Armenian community of Syria, and 8% — believes that Armenia can become a target for terrorists.

Negatively to the actions of Russia in Syria has responded 22% of the population.

To the question «Will those actions put an end to the four-year war in Syria», 25% has responded “yes”, 34% — rather, yes, 12% — rather no, 10% — definitely not.

“Who is to be blamed for the current situation?” 52% of respondents says that the main culprit is the United States, 23% blames the terrorist group, 15% — Turkey, 15% — the Syrian authorities with President Bashar Assad, 8% — the Syrian opposition, 6% — Russia, 5% — European countries and 3% — Saudi Arabia.
