The suspected murderer of the Russian soldier is arrested

The suspected murderer of Ivan Novikov, a Russian soldier, was arrested today in Gyumri. Ivan Boskhomjiev, a contractor soldier, is suspected in the murder of the 19-year-old rookie Ivan Novikov. The Southern Military District press service reports that the suspected murderer has already admitted his guilt and told investigators that the reason was just «the personal hostility». He has admitted that he immediately took a dislike to that guy, when he saw him on the territory of the 102nd military base in Gyumri. The last quarrel between the soldiers turned into a fight. Boskhomjiev, who is two years older, took the rookie out of the territory of the military town and 350 meters far from the fence stabbed the young man for several times. Then he hid the body in the bushes, near a dirt road. It was about 5 am. Then the suspected murderer calmly went to the apartment of his friend-contractors. He spent there the night and got ready to work. He didn’t have any thoughts to leave Gyumri. A criminal case is issued on the murder of the soldier, and the suspected contractor has been questioned by the investigators. Boskhomjiev is a military contractor from the Astrakhan region. He has been serving in Gyumri for 1.5 years, since December of 2013. Earlier it was reported that on June 15 in Gyumri within the «Mother Armenia» complex was found Ivan Novikov’s body, who was passing his military service at the 102nd Russian military base.

Raffi Aslanyan, Shirak region Prosecutor, said that the deceased’s body had traces of stab wounds. According to the preliminary investigation, Ivan Novikov was sent to serve in Armenia just two months ago.
