Russia and Armenia will sign a new agreement on military correspondence

On December 10, the Armenian government approved a draft decision on the signing of the Agreement between the governments of Armenia and Russia «On Cooperation in the sphere of military courier, postal service.» The agreement regulates issues related to the turnover of military correspondence in the state, where the military forces are deployed, from the territory of the other state. The postal agreement is very important, — says independent military expert Alexander Luchaninov.

«At first glance, it’s an ordinary correspondence issue. Russia has its military base in Armenia, and it is natural that there is a correspondence, and the need to deliver some mail cargoes from Armenia to Russia and vice versa. The volume of mail is not small, considering that there’s a is an entire division in Armenia, with its own problems, starting with the mailing issues of family members and finishing with sensitive packets, which can’t be sent by e-mail, because the U.S. has already taught us that there is the NSA that watches every step,» told RUSARMINFO Alexander Luchaninov.

Note: The Defense Ministries of Armenia and Russia will begin the execution of the agreement within two months after its entry into force.
