Erdogan may recall the Turkish ambassador from Moscow

Turkey doesn’t negate the possibility of recalling its ambassador from Moscow, as announced by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at a meeting with academics and historians held in Ankara. The reason is the Russia’s official position on the Armenian Genocide. «The president informed that he had discussed this issue with President Putin in a phone conversation, expressing his dissatisfaction. According to Erdogan, Ankara has good relations with Moscow, the presidents of the two countries have a lot in common, but there is no compromise on such an issue. And in case of necessity, Turkey may recall its ambassador from Russia and continue its relations in future on the consular or chargé d’affaires level», — said one of the participants of the meeting, Turkish historian Mustafa Armagan.
