EEU nationals can’t shop at Duty Free within the Union

The EEU countries’ passengers can’t shop at Duty Free stores while traveling inside the Union. The press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission has told RUSARMINFO that the unified customs system has been established on the EEU territory, and the Union nationals traveling from one member country to another can’t shop at Duty Free stores.

In the Russian airports there is a clear separation of passengers of domestic and international flights, which allows domestic passengers to bypass the Duty Free zone. In Armenia, yet there’s no distinction, so to sell the goods or not, based on the boarding pass, decides the shop assistant.

Eurasian Economic Union is an international organization, assuring freedom of movement of goods, services, capital and labor, and the implementation of a unified economic policy. The EEU members today are Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
