Armenia’s Karen Hambardzumyan claimed victory in the World Paper Airplane Championship

Karen  Hambardzumyan, a paper-plane pilot from Armenia, won the World Paper Airplane Championship in Salzburg, Austria.  In the “Paper Wings” World Finals Hambardzumyan’s self-made paper aircraft with a flight lasting 14.36 seconds earned the highest score in the airtime category. The winners of the contest were chosen across three main categories: the furthest throw, the most aerobatic flight and the aircraft that flew for the longest time. More than 500 qualifiers from 80 countries participated in the contest held between 8 -9 of May in the Salzburg Aviation Museum. “Paper Wings” is a world championship of “folding and throwing” paper-made airplanes held once in three years.
